UltraShield Polyaspartic

2 US gallons per kit

Polyaspartic coverage for epoxy and garage floors

The amount of polyaspartic top coat you need depends on the floor beneath it. POURLA UltraShield Polyaspartic is a clear finishing coat for compatible flake, metallic, and solid-color epoxy systems. Measure the area to be coated, then choose the surface type above to estimate full 2-gallon kits.

Over a flake floor

240-360sq ft per 2-gallon kit

Published coverage is 120-180 sq ft per US gallon. The texture between broadcast flakes takes more clear coating than a smooth epoxy surface, so a flake-floor estimate uses a lower spread rate.

Over smooth or metallic epoxy

400-500sq ft per 2-gallon kit

Published coverage is 200-250 sq ft per US gallon. Smoother metallic and solid-color epoxy surfaces generally allow the material to spread farther. Actual coverage still depends on surface texture and coating thickness.

Example: a 500 sq ft flake garage floor

For one coat, the calculator uses a planning rate of 140 sq ft per gallon and adds the default 5% allowance. A 500 sq ft flake floor therefore needs an estimated 3.75 US gallons. Rounding up to complete 2-gallon kits gives a purchase estimate of 2 kits, containing 4 US gallons in total.

500 sq ft → 3.75 US gal → 2 kits

Calculator assumptions

The planning rates are 140 sq ft per US gallon for flake and 210 for smooth epoxy. Multiply by the selected number of coats, apply the chosen allowance, then round up to full kits. The allowance is a planning buffer, not a product requirement or a coverage guarantee.

Polyaspartic floor coating FAQs

Can I apply polyaspartic over an epoxy floor?

Yes, over a sound, compatible epoxy coating that has been cleaned and prepared for recoating. Preparation depends on the epoxy's cure state and recoat window. Follow the current product instructions before applying the clear coat.

Does this calculator include primer and the base coat?

No. It estimates UltraShield clear top coat only. Calculate primer and epoxy base-coat quantities separately when planning a complete floor system.

Should I mix all of the recommended kits at once?

No. The displayed quantity is a purchase estimate. Measure equal weights of Part A and Part B, then mix manageable batches that can be applied within the working time. Read the TDS for mixing and batch-size instructions.

When can I park a vehicle on the finished floor?

Plan for approximately 48 hours before vehicle traffic at 77°F (25°C). Cooler or humid conditions can extend the cure. Follow the product instructions and allow additional time when conditions slow curing.
