How to estimate epoxy and polyaspartic resin

Start with the material and the shape of your project. Floor coatings are estimated from surface area and the selected product‘s coverage. Countertop coatings use surface dimensions, while river tables and molds need the volume of the space being filled.

Coating a surface?

Measure the area you will coat, then choose the product calculator. Primer, epoxy floor coat and polyaspartic topcoat have different coverage assumptions, so estimate each layer separately.

Filling a river or mold?

Measure the resin-filled space: length, average width and intended depth. For an uneven river table, take several width measurements along the gap and use the average.

Resin calculator FAQ

Which calculator should I use for a garage floor?

Use the epoxy floor calculator for primer or an epoxy floor coat. Use the polyaspartic calculator for a polyaspartic topcoat over flake or metallic flooring. For a floor with several layers, estimate each product separately.

Does the estimate include both Part A and Part B?

Calculator volumes refer to the combined resin and hardener. A kit is the packaged system; check its total mixed volume and the selected size before ordering. The floor calculators also recommend whole kits.

Should I add extra resin for waste?

Allowances vary by calculator and project. Check the selected options and the estimate‘s assumptions before adding more, so the same allowance is not counted twice. Irregular shapes, surface texture and application technique can change actual use.

Do all POURLA resins use the same mix ratio?

No. Follow the chosen product‘s label and technical data sheet, including whether its ratio is measured by weight or volume. A quantity estimate does not change the required mix ratio.
